Jack Paauw serves Sound West Group as the Managing Director of Development. He is responsible for the holistic development process- from site selection, feasibility, design, construction, and lease up. In his 25+ years in multifamily real estate, he has held leadership roles in the development and construction of over 3,000 units in market rate apartments, resort condominiums, and senior housing across western states and Hawaii.
Prior to joining Sound West Group, Jack was the Managing Director for Trinsic Residential Pacific Northwest office, and a partner at Alliance Residential in the Seattle and Portland markets. He has also been Vice President of Development for Wyndham Worldwide, and a Partner at SECO Development in Seattle.

Aura Burnside – Portland OR
In Portland’s trendy Central Eastside; partner and development lead for 163 units in six stories over below grade parking mixed use, design forward iconic project at Burnside and Grand. Assembled the land, navigated Portland’s design review process, bid out and modeled the proforma and design to meet Portland’s restrictive criteria while maintaining financial viability- Q3 2017 project completion.
Aura West Seattle – Seattle WA
In West Seattle’s Triangle neighborhood; was partner and development lead for 160 units in six stories over three levels of below grade parking with street level Live-Work units. The front door to the community opens to a Rapid Ride stop; the theme of the facility is connections. Aura W. Seattle also features a 20,000 sf rooftop amenity area with a pea patch, a fire-pit lounge with 180 degree views of Elliot Bay and the Seattle skyline. Assembled the land, entitled the design, obtained permits, and oversaw construction- Project completed in 2016.
Broadstone Koi – Seattle WA
On Ballard’s historic Market Street; was partner and development lead for a 166 unit six-story midrise over two levels of below grade parking. Project features Live-work and loft units at street level, with market rate housing above. Amenities include a rooftop deck, spacious interior courtyard, and fitness center. Secured the land, entitled the design, obtained permits- Project was completed in 2013.
Broadstone Enso – Portland OR
In Portland’s Pearl District, City partner and development lead for an award winning 155 unit luxury mid-rise, highly amenitized apartment community which included a chef’s demonstration kitchen, wine storage, and fitness center. Oversaw the design, entitlement process as well as construction- Project was completed in 2011.
